The day started out soggy as overnight rains left the area around Watkins Glen International soaked. After some mid-morning indecision, Mother Nature opted for the rain to stop. That allowed the track to partially dry prior to racing action.

Following the noon lunch break, drivers picked up speed as the track continued to dry throughout the day.
