Spec Showdown: The three spec classes of SCCA Club Racing, Spec Racer Ford (SRF), Spec Racer Ford Gen 3 (SRF3), and Spec Miata (SM) are always expected to bring great, close racing. As Spec Racer Ford competitors continue to transition from the 2nd to 3rd Generation rulesets, competition in SRF3 continues to become increasingly competitive. Group 3 will see 34 SRF3 drivers aiming for the top spot. Group 1 will hold the same intensity as 32 registered SM drivers fight for the first position.
Adding to The Fold: Many competitors are traveling to NOLA to start their seasons in the Mid-States Conference while others are continuing their season in the Southeast Conference following back-to-back racing at Homestead-Miami and Sebring last month. Expect to see the duels of a month ago continue while adding new players.
B-Spec Faceoff: The teammate trio of Chi Ho, Darren Seltzer and Jason Huepenbecker continue their season from last month and add James Wilson to the competition in B-Spec. These compact cars pack close competition and will provide close racing throughout the weekend. No driver has previously attended a NOLA U.S. Majors Tour Race, so it may be a race of who can learn the circuit fastest.
