At A Glance: '19 Sebring Hoosier Super Tour

Storylines/Things to Watch:
2019 Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA® Super Tour Opens in Sebring – For a third consecutive year, the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour begins its season January 11-13 at the historic Sebring International Raceway.  The premier U.S. amateur road racing series, Hoosier SCCA Super Tour is comprised of an exciting, 11-weekend schedule that brings together top SCCA competitors from throughout the country. Visiting some of the greatest tracks in North America, each weekend consists of two races for each of 29 car classes. From GT cars to production vehicles, formula cars to prototypes, the Hoosier Super Tour packs a ton of great action into each and every weekend. Follow all the action with live static cameras and Super Tour Radio presented by Hoosier Racing Tire at www.scca.com/live.

Strong Showing in Sebring -- With more than 360 entries, the Hoosier Super Tour is off to another strong start at Sebring International Raceway.  Across the 29 classes, the names of several SCCA National Championship Runoffs® winners can be found on the entry list along with a bunch of top-notch competitors.  Many of the drivers this weekend also competed last weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the first U.S. Majors Tour® event of the year, taking the opportunity to log two race weekends back-to-back in Florida on the way to fulfilling SCCA National Championship Runoffs qualification criteria to participate at VIRginia International Raceway in October.

Classes and Groups to Watch -- Group 3, consisting of Spec Racer Ford Gen3 (SRF3) drivers, and Group 4, made up of Spec Miata (SM) competitors, will provide must-see racing this weekend. Both classes have over 60 entries and usually put on a spectacular show at Sebring. Spectators should also keep an eye on Group 1, which includes healthy car counts for Touring 2, Super Touring® Under and Super Touring® Lite. The GT-1 and GT-2 classes in Group 2 also have a strong showing, as well as the Formula F class contained within the Group 7 race.

Winter Racing – While much of the country is entrenched in cold winter weather, temperatures look to be in the 70s for most of the weekend in Sebring.  A slight chance of rain is in the forecast, but that’s pretty predictable for Florida. Admission is FREE for spectators, so round up the family, grab a picnic lunch, and get to Sebring International Raceway to catch all the Hoosier Super Tour action in person.
